For Twisto company we have implemented API solutions based on the European Parliament's PSD2 directive. This directive must be met by all banking entities from 2018, when the directive entered into force. The directive addresses the greater flexibility of the banking sector through third party access during contact between the bank and its client.
They were the first to introduce "buy now, pay later" payments to the Czech Republic. Twisto is an online payment service with which you can buy goods immediately and pay for them in up to 14 days. In 2018, the company expanded to Poland and currently has over a million clients.
PSD2 (Payment services directive 2) brought a revolution to the world of online banking thanks to these crucial points.
PSD2 at the same time, it requires banks to make their clients' data available to third parties via the so-called API (Application Programming Interface). This obligation means for banks that choose to comply only with the requirements of PSD2, that they will become a passive intermediary in the provision of these new services.
